Artist Statement
While pursuing a goal of breaking my reliance upon reasoning to understand the world; I found that if I allow my subconscious to act on its own through a somewhat fluid state of mark making; the paintings then unravel mysteries to me or can act as premonitions. They aid me in promoting growth and understanding in my personal life. The objective of painting for me is in order to guide myself through this incarnation to be more successful in my quest. Not being limited to a particular style or subject matter allows me to be more authentic in my approach. Ranging from personal experiences to religious and philosophical insights and archetypes; each piece is undertaken as a separate entity from the rest. Painting is the iconography of my past and the potentiality of where I am going. I act as a vehicle, a spirit guide (if you will) to myself.
